What is the significance of Insight’s certification as Space Technology?

The United States space program has used surface EMG for space flight analysis, and surface EMG technology has received certification as Space Technology by the Space Foundation, a non-profit organization that works in cooperation with NASA. CLA’s head engineer, Lee Brody, was involved in two of the studies, which took place as part of a joint MIT/Boston University research project funded by NASA. The Neuromuscular Research Center at Boston University designed and implemented two experimental protocols: (1) to measure the EMG activity of astronauts pre and immediately post shuttle flight to quantify the changes in muscle activity due to the weightlessness of space. Brody and his team designed protocols, measurement techniques and analysis software. This work has been praised by the Space Foundation and lead to the Insight receiving its status as a Certified Space Technology. In April of 2008, Dr. Gentempo, the Co-Founder of CLA was asked by NASA to present his views on the virtues of technology development in the space program before the US Congress. Not only was Dr. Gentempo’s presentation very well received, but after the presentation, several members of Congress and their staff agreed to be screened by the Insight and introduced to the merits of chiropractic care.

The Chiropractic Leadership Association “CLA” is the company that produces the Insight Technology.
